I took samples from each pot until I found myself with a dish heaped with an enormous variety of foods. It was delicious and very filling. Rio is famous for both its meat and seafood dishes. My most memorable Brazilian seafood meal took place at the world famous Candido’s, a small restaurant just a one half hour drive outside the city in the small fishing village of Pedra de Guaratiba. Many visiting royalty and dignitaries have graced the tables at Candido’s, considered to be one of the best seafood restaurants in the world. I indulged in another typically Brazilian meal at Churrascaria Oasis where the focus was on meats. Skewer after skewer piercing huge cuts of meat was presented to me and were sliced directly on to my plate. There were more than 20 choices of deliciously spit barbecued meats from which to choose.
